WIPLA board member Alan Dyson has released a new album, "Stray Dogs by the Highway." Collaborators David Love Lewis (poet) and Erich Avinger (instrumentalist/producer) will perform with Dyson at an album release/concert event hosted by Shreveport House Concerts on April 17, 2016, at Studio 1508 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
"This is the first release of the creative collaboration between David Love Lewis, Alan Dyson, and Erich Avinger. Each makes his own impressive contributions to the project: poetic, mostly autobiographical lyrics by Lewis (with the exception of Donna Waylene Moore providing lyrics for “See No Evil”); all music composition, lead vocals and piano by Dyson; production, engineering , drums, dobro, guitars and keyboards credited to Erich Avinger. Avinger’s production and engineering done at Invisible Studios and Wire Road Studios in Houston, Texas. The project was mastered by the legendary Bernie Grundman of Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angles." - Karl Hasten/The Forum News
WIPLA grantee Julieann Banks will perform original songs from her album, All These Things, during the first half of the concert. Banks recently moved back to North Louisiana from Austin, Texas, and is currently touring and performing across the region.
“Julieann is the real deal. She has a long history in the Texas music community as a vocalist and songwriter that’s admired by all who have had the opportunity to hear her. Her fans have hung with her, too. Soulful singing with a heart to match makes for a joyful and entertaining listen.”
– Terri Hendrix, musician & author
This concert is made possible by a generous grant from the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation.
