Intellectual Property and the Creative Professions: An Overview

Workshop attendees will get a "big-picture" understanding of:

  • How to protect your original creative work
     

  • The differences between copyrights, trademarks and patents
     

  • Copyright and trademark registration, including the benefits of registration and the costs
     

  • Appropriation issues, copyright infringement, and examples of intellectual property violations.

 

Bring your questions! This will be an excellent introductory seminar for creative professionals working in all disciplines (music, visual art, theatre, music, culinary arts, publishing, graphic design, photography, etc.).
